Barack Obama has a long track record of making inappropriate statements following tragic events. Mostly this involves pushing a political agenda. Like his buddy Rahm Emanuel says, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste!” Maybe Obama’s obvious discomfort at being unable to blame an attack on the accessibility of guns is what has lead to this cringe inducing comedy routine.

If you haven’t watched the video yet, get a barf bag ready. Maybe you should even have a few drinks first. If you do, be sure to place all glass bottles well out of reach, or risk a broken computer monitor.

This is the absolute worst display of inappropriate Dad humor I’ve ever seen. It is like if someone was delivering a eulogy at a funeral and said “I’m devastated” and Obama stood up and yelled “nice to meet you, Devastated!”.

raw

For those who have wisely decided to keep their breakfast down by not watching the video, I’ll sum it up for you. Obama manages to stumble through nearly a whole minute of taking the deaths of innocent people seriously before he goes completely off the rails.

“Our way of life, our freedoms, our ability to go about our business every day, raising our kids and seeing them grow up, and graduate from high school…”

Here he starts to smirk. Not a good start when talking about people being killed while shopping at the mall.

“…and now about to leave their dad.”

regret

The room erupts with laughter. Look, I fully expect our president to make a complete ass of himself. That’s what he does best. It wasn’t even funny. In any other speech it would probably make people say “Oh look, he makes terrible jokes just like me! He’s almost human!” Under these circumstances, it was just wrong. Thank goodness he immediately realized his mistake and apologized.

“I’m sorry, I’m getting a little too personal. I’m getting a little too personal there.”

That’s right, Mr.President. I know that it is easy to forget with all of the lights and cameras and people hanging on your every word, but this isn’t about you. This is about the people who lost loved ones. This is a time to offer condolences, not act like a goof.

This isn’t even the first time that Obama has acted like this. When the Brussels airport was bombed by terrorists, he continued to watch baseball and crack jokes with a Communist dictator in Cuba.

0409 Cuba Obama baseball Da
Whatever he said sure must have been funny! Probably something like “did you get a haircut Castro, or did you get them all cut?”

His excuse at the time was that if an attack in Brussels interrupted his party with Castro, the terrorists had obviously won. What is the excuse this time?

Given his complete lack of timing, Obama should probably avoid comedy all together. Like all dad’s, however, he occasionally cracks groan-worthy jokes. I’m pretty sure that making terrible puns and references to empty nests goes along with wearing sandals and socks, leaving the TV on all the time but turning off lights obsessively because of the electric bill, and being painfully out of touch. It is all just part of being a dad.

cooldad

Barack Obama is not just a dad, however. Despite the fact that SJW liberals all seem to want government to fill the role of the paternal figures apparently lacking in their own lives, the president has a very solemn role to play both nationally and internationally. If you are a comedian, by all means crack jokes. Joke about anything, push the boundaries. Laugh in the face of ISIS. Crack jokes about how the President makes an ass of himself by cracking jokes. It is funny (in a dark and horrifying way) because it reveals just how self absorbed and detached from reality he is. Barack Obama is the Commander in Chief, not the Comedian in Chief. He should know by now how to act.
